Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Mount Abu of Sirohi district of Rajasthan, it is also called Sirohi national park. this is one of the major tourist destinations of Rajasthan. This Wildlife Sanctuary is located near Mount Abu, the only hill station in Rajasthan.
Wildlife Sanctuary Mount Abu is known for its botanical and perennial biodiversity which covers the country’s oldest mountain range Aravalli.
Mount Abu Wildlife sanctuary History
Mount Abu Sanctuary was accorded the status of a wildlife sanctuary in 1960 to preserve the flora and fauna of the area. Today this sanctuary has become a famous natural tourist destination of Rajasthan.
Wildlife Sanctuary Mount Abu is spread over 288 square kilometers. Which crosses several mountains from 300 meters to 1722 meters high in Gurushkhar (the highest peak of Rajasthan).
Gurushikh is considered to be the tallest shortest of the Aravalli Mountains. Due to weathering effect of water and wind in this forest life sanctuary, many igneous rocks with large cavities are present.
Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary has located about 34 km from Nakki Lake. This wildlife sanctuary is about 19 km (12 mi) long and 6 km (3.7 mi) wide.
There are many varieties of plants and plants found in Mount Abu Century. About 820 species of plants are found here. There are more than 81 trees, 17 types of medicinal trees, and 89 types of shrubs. A large variety of flowers ranging from roses to orchids are also found in this wildlife sanctuary.
Apart from being surrounded by greenery all around, this wildlife sanctuary is also famous for its fauna. Wildlife lovers can see many unique and rare species of animals here.
About 250 species of birds and more than 110 species of plants can be seen here. Wildlife Sanctuary Mount Abu is an ideal place for those interested in birds.
Leopard, sloth bear, peacock, sambar, chinkara, wild boar, nilgai, rabbit, wild rooster, pheasant, and langur are found mainly in this sanctuary. Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary provides an ideal environment for lazy bears.
Mount Abu wildlife sanctuary entry fee & Jeep safari
Tourists can roam the entire sanctuary with the help of a jeep safari at Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary. In Jeep Safari, the fee for walking in the sanctuary is Rs 300 per person but this fee goes up to Rs 600 per person in the tourist season.

The mount Abu sanctuary is open for tourists from 09.00 am to 05.30 pm.
Best time to visit Mount Abu wildlife sanctuary
If tourists want to enjoy Wildlife Sanctuary Mount Abu apart from other things like trekking, hiking, then winters are the ideal time to visit from October to March. This place is also best for photography.
How to reach Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary Sirohi Rajasthan
By Air – Udaipur is the nearest airport to Mount Abu, which is approx 185 km away from Mount Abu.
Rail route – The Nearest railway station of Mount Abu Rajasthan is Abu Road, which is located at a distance of 28 km from here. Taxis are available here to visit Mount Abu Hill Station.
By Road – Mount Abu can be reached by road from almost all major cities of Rajasthan & India.
