Lord Shri Khatu Shyam Ji temple Rajasthan is located in the Sikar district of the Shekhawati region. The Khatushyam Mandir Rajasthan is a holy Hindu temple.

The temple of Baba Khatu Shyam is very ancient and is considered contemporary to Mahabharata, but the present temple was built by Roop Singh Chauhan and his wife Narmada Kanwar in 1027 AD.
Was done by Devan Abhay Singh of Thakur, ruler of Marwar, and renovated the temple in 1720 AD, on the instruction of Thakur. The temple took its present shape at this time and the statue was converted into a sanctum sanctorum. The idol is made of rare stones.
According to historian Pandit Jhabarmall Sharma, in 1679, Aurangzeb’s army destroyed this temple. At that time, many Rajputs sacrificed their lives to protect the temple.
Shri Khatushyam is called the Sheesh ka Dani. And they are worshiped in the world by the name of Shishadani. Shri Khatu Shyam was known as Barbaric in the Mahabharata period.
Barbaric Gadadhari was the grandson of Bhima and the son of Ghatotkacha and Morvi. Barbaric was a very brave and great warrior since childhood.
In the Mahabharata period, when Barbarik promised to support his mother Morvi the loser in the battle of Kurukshetra. Then Lord Shri Krishna asked Veer Barbarik to donate his head, and Veer Barbarik gladly gave his head to Lord Shri Krishna, if Lord Krishna did not ask for this sacrifice, then this war was difficult for Kauravas.
Lord Shri Krishna was happy with this great head sacrifice and gave a boon to Veer Barbarik that in the Kali Yuga you will be worshiped in my name ie, “Khatu Shyam’s name” in the house and you will fulfil all the wishes of you, by becoming a loser in your court Khatu. You will get the victory of the devotees.
Today Shyam Baba has thousands of temples in the country and abroad. Jyoti devotees of Shri Krishna Varadani Baba take every gyrus in their homes.
Khatushyam Story Shisha Daan
In the last phase of Dwapar Yuga, Kauravas and Pandavas ruled in Hastinapur. During the exile of the Pandavas, Bhima was married to Hidimba. And they had a son named Ghatotkacha. Ghatotkacha was married to Kamakatankata. And they had a son named Barbaric. Who received the boon of being invincible from Mother Bhagwati Jagadamba.
When Ranbheri of the Mahabharata war took place, then with the desire to see the heroic Barbaric war, he proceeded to the Kuru region. And Barbaric was matched with Shri Krishna who was on the way.
And on asking Vipra, he called himself a warrior and a donor. As a test, he tied each leaf of the tree with a single arrow and after tying the leaf under the feet of Shri Krishna, the arrow went back to Tarkas.
When asked by Shri Vipdhari Vipdhari, he said that I will support the loser. Shri Krishna said that if you are a charity then give your head in charity for the sacrifice of the motherland. Then after Shri Krishna gave his real introduction He expressed his desire to see the Mahabharata war.
After worshiping Bhajan throughout the night, bathing Phalgun Shukla Dwadashi in the morning, and donating his head with his hand to Shri Krishna. Shri Krishna installed that head in a high place for war observation.

After the victory in the war, the Pandavas started to debate about the credit of victory, and then Shri Krishna said that its decision can make the head of Barbaric.
Sheesh told that the Sudarshan Chakra of Shri Krishna was going on in the war and Draupadi was drinking blood in the form of Mahakali. Sri Krishna was pleased and gave a boon to Sheesh that, in the Kali-yuga, you will be worshiped by my name Shyam.
And only by your remembrance will the welfare of the devotees. And religion, meaning, work, and salvation will be attained. Baba Shyam, after having dreams, is appearing in the Khatu Dham – appearing from the Shyam Kund in his Krishna Virat Saligram Shree Shyam form in the present Khatu Shyam Ji Temple built in Samvat 14, fulfilling the wishes of the devotees.
