Khandar Fort is Situated in Khandar Tehsil of Sawai Madhopur, Khandar Fort is the main tourist attraction of tourist attraction in Sawai Madhopur. This fort is also known as Taragarh Fort.
This ancient fort is situated in Khandar Tehsil, 40 km from Sawai Madhopur. This fort is located near a very famous Wildlife Sanctuary Ranthambore National Park. This fort is built on a steep hilltop. There are three large doors in it.

There are seven temples inside the fort complex – Hanuman Temple Chaturbhuja Temple Rani Temple Govind Devji Temple Jagatpalji Mandir and Jayanti Mata Mandir. Apart from this, there are some water bodies, including two tanks and seven ponds inside the premises.

Being located in a dangerous place, it was difficult to win easily by the invading army on the fort. It was not known when this fort was built, but it is believed that it will be built in the 12th century.
The fort has been ruled by the Sisodia dynasty of Mewar. After this, the Mughals have been occupying it for some time. Later it came under the rule of Jaipur.
The conservation of this fort was in the hands of the local village panchayat and administration in the past, its condition was fine, but due to some reasons, it was handed over to the forest department.
