The Black Taj Mahal (Kala Taj Mahal) is a famous building located in the Burhanpur district of Madhya Pradesh. It is located at a distance of about 7 kilometers from Burhanpur Railway Station. It houses the tomb of Shah Nawaz Khan. It was built between 1622 and 1623 AD.
According to historians, the elder son of Abdul Rahim Khankhana was Shah Nawaz Khan, who was a general in the Mughal army. He was lion-hearted and courageous. His bravery was discussed all over the world.
At the age of just 44, Shah Nawaz Khan got martyrdom in the war. After death, Shah Nawaz Khan was buried on the banks of the Utavali River in Burhanpur.
At that time, the wife of Shah Nawaz Khan was also buried at the same place after her death. The black Taj Mahal was built in his memory. The present-day Kala Taj Mahal houses the mausoleums of Shah Nawaz Khan and his wife.

The special thing is that there are four small minarets on the edge of this mausoleum, on the lines of which the minarets of the Taj Mahal of Agra were built.
The Black Taj Mahal is smaller in size, but the shape is exactly like the Taj Mahal. The black stone was used in its construction. Because of this, the mausoleum is called the Black Taj Mahal. There is a garden around this dome. Beautiful paintings can be seen inside the walls.
