One of the most beautiful temples, Seth Bhandasar Jain Temple is located at a distance of approx 03 km from Bikaner Railway Station. It is a temple dedicated to the 5th Tirthankara in Jainism, Sumatinath of the 15th century. This temple is also known as Bhandashah Jain Temple.
The construction of the temple with the use of ghee in place of water sounds strange, but it is true that this temple has not been constructed with one or two kilograms but forty thousand kilograms of ghee.

Seth Bhandasar Jain Temple History
The construction of Seth Bhandasar Jain Temple was started by a merchant named Bhandshah in 1468 and it was completed by his daughter in 1541. The temple was built by Bhandshah Oswal Ji, who was a trader of ghee. Due to the construction of the temple by Bhandashah Jain, it was named Bhandashah.
In this Jain temple, about 108 feet high from the ground, Lord Sumatinath, the fifth Tirthankar, is seated on the original altar. This entire temple is divided into three stories. This temple is made of red sandstone and marble. The decoration inside the temple is very beautiful.
According to historian Dr Shiv Kumar Bhanot, the murals and sculptures inside this temple are also very interesting. The floor, ceiling, pillars, and walls of the temple are adorned with sculptures and paintings. The temple is in the category of National Protected Monument.
On the completion of 500 years of the temple, a special cover and defacement were issued by the Department of Posts.
