Jagdish Temple is located in Udaipur district of Rajasthan state, India. Jagdish Temple was earlier called Jagannath Rai Temple. This temple is located in the City Palace of Udaipur. Jagdish Temple was built by Maharana Jagat Singh. Maharana Jagat Singh ruled Udaipur from 1628-1653.
Jagadish Temple was built on a small terrace in Udaipur, and the construction was completed in the year 1651. Lakshmi Narayan Temple (Jagadish Temple) was built by the Hindu architectural science Vastu Shastra. Even at that time, the emperor had spent Rs 1.5 million to build this huge temple.

The idol of Lord Jagannath located in the Bhagwan Jagadish temple has been excavated under a tree in Kunba village [Dungarpur]. Till the construction of the temple was completed, the idol of Lord Jagannath was worshiped by keeping it on a stone. That stone is still present in the temple. It is believed that just by touching this temple, all the sorrows and pains of the body go away.
This temple is built in Indo-Aryan style and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The four-handed idol of Lord Vishnu installed in this temple is made of black stone.
Structure of Jagdish Temple
Jagdish Ji’s temple is of three floors with carved pillars and painted walls. The height of the temple is 125 feet and the height of its peak is 100 feet. There are a total of 50 pillars in the Bhagwan Jagdish temple. There are also statues of elephant riders, musicians, and dancers.
